Some of the movies, books, music, etc that I like.

Books

  • 2023
    A brief history of intelligence
    BY Max Bennett
    • A wonderful read on how neuroscience guides the way forward in the ever growing interest in AI, all the capabilities that we are inspired by come from learning about the brain and how it works and it's fascinating how the brain works.
  • 2016
    Algorithms to live by
    Brian Christian
    • How computer science algorithms help us in our day to day life, living an optimal life using the algorithms we designed. Interesting things - 37% rule, Epsilon Greedy Policy, Caching, etc.
  • 2017
    Behave
    Robert Sopolsky
    • This one is for the behaviorists, from the guy at Stanford who gives crazy lectures to this crazy book of evolution and behavior - check out his course playlist on youtube. I would read this book instead of that overhyped book Sapiens with hundreds of factual mistakes.
  • 1997
    How the mind works
    Steven Pinker
    • Cannot emphasize enough on this amazing book of everything inside you works, the power of the brain, you think you understand people? Read this book to clear your misunderstanding.

Movies

  • 2007
    Taare Zameen Par
    • Dyslexia, Parenthood, caring, music, bonding, lost and found
  • 1994
    Forrest Gump
    • Those who are simple, who follow what's said to them religiously without overthinking go ahead in life, no matter what people think about them, people judge them and laugh at them and then go wrong in the end. PS- Aamir khan remake was beautiful, so beautiful to do Forrest Gump in an Indian version, people missed out on that movie.
  • Waqt - Race against time
    • Loved it for the father-son bond and the son gets back on his feet and all the heavy emotions in this movie makes me cry to this day.
  • Roti
    • This one from rajesh khanna where he emphasizes on the importance of roti and the fights he does only to get 2 rotis in his stomach.
